At this year’s Morobe Show, Lae Schools will be displaying their student’s wonderful work and achievements in & out of the classroom in the THEODIST Pavilion.

There will be some fantastic exhibits which depict the schools that they represent across Pre-School, Primary and Secondary School’s.

The Schools Exhibit has been generously sponsored for the last few years with thanks to Theodist who are giving each school exhibit a K200 voucher to use in store for the schools to purchase much needed equipment and stationary. Come along and see what our creative kids have been up to!

THE WAY FORWARD FOR EMPLOYMENT! SKILLS FOR THE FUTURE!

Technical Vocational Education Training, or TVET, was introduced for the first time at the 2013 Morobe Show where the response was so overwhelming, the Show Committee couldn’t wait to invite the centres back for another year!

TVET Centres from Morobe will be showcasing their courses in the TVET Pavilion through actual displays of what different trades are expected to do in reality and experts will be on hand to answer any questions that the public may have.

Schools Exhibits Councillor Karen Quinn says that one of the biggest decisions in a young person’s life is whether to go to mainstream High School or to take the pathway of learning a trade through TVET.

“The TVET Centres Exhibit is about providing awareness for our students on the options that they have” she said.

“This is an important sector of the Morobe Provincial Education Department which offers a pathway to employment through a trade.”

Parents and children of all ages will see Welders, Auto-Mechanics, Plumbers, Carpenters-Joiners, Hospitality Professionals and many other trades at work in the TVET Pavilion at the 2014 Morobe Show.

Mathias Ngatur, Manager of St. Francis Tech School, was on hand in the TVET Pavilion at last year’s show and said “(We) train them and discourage criminal activities to help them achieve a better life”.

The Morobe Provincial Education Department and many companies in Morobe are looking to the future for your children by fostering the TVET expansion in Morobe to get children into the workforce through this Path of Education. This awareness to parents and children will hopefully create a database for introducing more trade subjects, buildings and staff to assist this program so GO to the TVET Pavilion and sign up for your children’s FUTURE!
